Scorpio Collins

Scorpio Collins serves as the President of Believing in Excellence with a focus on community outreach and life-long learning.

As Scorpio progressed through college as a 1st generation college student, he noticed there was a lack of guidance and unforeseen financial burdens on his way to graduation. Scorpio persevered through those obstacles and received his bachelor’s in industrial engineering from Lamar University, shortly after he completed his MBA at University of Houston Downtown.

After graduation Scorpio became a mechanical engineer for the DoD, he vowed that he would help others overcome the barriers of a life-long learner. He has confidence in the mission of Believing in Excellence and is looking forward to uplifting and empowering the community.

Jordan Watts

Jordan Watts serves as the Secretary of Believing in Excellence, Inc with a focus on technical strategies. Jordan received his bachelor’s in management information systems at the Lamar University.

Thereafter began to pursue numerous ventures in Houston’s tech start-up echo system. During that time, he worked with numerous companies on technical strategies related to design and implementation.

As a second-generation college attendee and proud graduate, the work at Believing in Excellence greatly motivates him as he works to empower young adults and future leaders of our community by fulfilling their educational potential.

Yinka Jenmy

Yinka Jenmy serves at the Program Director of Believing in Excellence. Yinka Jenmy has over 10 years in Higher Education as an Educator, Student Affairs Professional, Advisor, and a variety of other roles she has served in at Lamar University.

Her vast knowledge of working with First Generation College students, coupled with her passion to see young adults succeed is the energy we need working in our community. She understands the complexities of college life and the financial burden it can take. Excellence is who she is, and what she demands of others.

Aaron Perrault

Aaron Perrault serves as the Treasurer of Believing in Excellence with a focus on financial structure and community programing.

Aaron received his bachelor’s degree from Lamar University in kinesiology. After graduation, Aaron stayed close to Lamar University and became a coach at a local middle school. He believes that hard work and dedication pays off and instills that in all his players and students every day.

Aaron has become a respected pillar in the community and is looking forward to continuing to enhance the community through the mission of Believing in Excellence.
